 Robin Erickson
Robin is a Fallbrook, CA. artist who has focused exclusively on
watermedia painting. While working as a mathematician/analyst for
U.S. Defense Department contractors, she initially took a painting
and life drawing course at Mira Costa College in Cardiff, CA. It
was such a transformational experience, she followed up by taking
all the drawing and painting classes offered by the college. Her
paintings began winning awards in local shows, and she was
encouraged to pursue painting more seriously.
She
has since studied with nationally known painters John Salminen,
Donna Zagotta, Judy Morris, Ted Nuttall, Judi Betts, Carol Maddox,
Carla O‘Connor and Sandi D’ Allessandro.
Robin changed careers in 2003 to become a full time painter. Her
interest is in reflections, especially in city windows - she sets
them up as near abstractions by uniquely juxtaposing the foreground,
background and reflected images. Windows are a continuing theme in
her work...in amongst the landscapes, citi-scapes and still-lifes
that sneak into her portfolio.
