In any ordinary moment of the day, the art of Nathan
Solano finds extraordinary beauty and a certain
sense of honesty.
His use of light and texture create engaging
canvases of pristine snow, gritty cattle drives or
rugged warriors. Light dances in his paintings and
you feel as though you are there.
Solano was born in Utah, and attended the University
of Colorado. He was drafted and did a tour in
Vietnam as an infantry sergeant.
Nathan spent a number of years working in Colorado
and Florida as a photographer, illustrator, and art
director for advertising agencies. In 1987 he began
painting for a living and has never looked back.
Mr. Solano is represented by Abend in Denver,
Colorado and Texas Art Gallery in Dallas, Texas and
Painthorse Gallery in Breckenridge, Colorado.
His work has been featured in Southwest Art,
Artists’ Magazine, Taos magazine, Western Horseman
Magazine and Cowboys & Indians.
