Brian Schweyen is a native Montanan
who grew up living in East Helena Montana. He graduated from
Montana State University. Growing up in Montana afforded him
the opportunities to camp, hike and fish through-out western
Montana with his father and his two brothers. Through these
experiences, he gained an appreciation for the outdoors.
As a self taught artist, Brian began
drawing at an early age and decided to take up oil painting ten
years ago, but only recently decided to take his art more
seriously. Brian (along with artist friend Mark Gibson) opened a
gallery in August of 2005 where they sell their original oil
paintings. Brian enjoys painting Montana Landscapes and he works
exclusively in oils. His passion for painting and the beauty of
the outdoors has driven Brian to truly study color and light out
of doors every chance he gets. Brian is driven by the desire to
become the best artist he possible can by maximizing his
knowledge and talents, and like most artists, he is always
striving to learn and become a better painter every painting.
Brian currently lives in Missoula with his wife Shannon and
their three daughters, Jordyn, Shelby and Sheridan.
Brian’s work hang’s in private and
corporate collections through-out the country. As well as being
the featured artist at several one and two man shows, he has had
his worked juried into many National Shows, such as the CM
Russell Art Auction, The OPA National and Regional Shows and The
Treasure State Art Show. Brian is a member of The Oil Painters
of America and The Montana Professional Artist Association.
