An 8000-acre family ranch in Arizona is home to
renowned sculptor Cynthia Rigden. It is here
that this classically trained sculptor finds an
endless source of inspiration for her bronzes
and small oil paintings that capture the elegant
lines of the horse, the strength and dignity of
longhorn cattle and the unique personalities of
various other farm animals on the ranch. Cynthia
is a third generation artist, preceded by her
mother and grand-mother who were both
accomplished painters. A member of the
prestigious American Academy of Equine Art, her
work has been profiled in Southwest Art, Equine
Images, Arizona Highways and Contemporary
Western Artists. She was also featured in
Barbara Van Cleve’s book, Hard Twist – Western
Ranch Women. Cynthia Rigden has exhibited with
the American Women Artists of the West, Loveland
Sculpture in the Park and the Prix De West show
in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She is recipient of
First Place Award - Three Dimensional at the
Cowgirl Up! Art From the Other Half of the West
2007 Invitational Exhibition and sale.
